Shipping in the mediPing Platform
mediPing provides custom made shipping methods for your customers. You can use these methods to offer your customers a variety of collection and delivery options.
The delivery methods offer a variety of timescales. These are:
- Special delivery (by next working day)
- Delivery 1st class (by 1-2 working days)
- Delivery 2nd class (by 2-3 working days).
Your customers can select any of these options on checkout.
Pricing is aligned roughly with current Royal Mail charges as for signed for deliveries.
There is also a free ‘Collection from pharmacy’ option.
mediPing has applied logic to the delivery charges so that shipping costs can be kept as low as possible for customers purchasing multiple items from the same vendor. There are set delivery charges when purchasing between 1-10 items, 11-20 items or 21+ items from the same vendor.
When a vendor wishes to sell a larger or heavier product (i.e. anything heavier than a box of tablets/capsules), it is advised that weight for the product is added to the product listing so that delivery surcharges can be applied.
In situations where you feel the mediPing custom shipping method delivery charge is not sufficient to cover postage costs, an additional charge can be added (i.e. the base delivery charge + additional charge) using the ‘Shipping freight’ field in the listed product.
Prerequisite
- Product is created
Product page
- When a product is created, additional tabs will display allowing you to add further information or rules to a listing.
- Click on the ‘Shipping properties’ tab
- Add your additional charge amount to the ‘Shipping freight’ field.
- Click save.
Please note that adding shipping freight will add an additional amount to existing delivery method charges.
Pre-set mediPing shipping methods can be deactivated by submitting a request to mediPing.
To set up free shipping for a product:

- When a product is created, additional tabs will display allowing you to add further information or rules to a listing.
- Click on the ‘Free shipping’ field in the ‘Shipping properties’ tab
- Click save.
This product will now be offered for free delivery in all delivery methods.
